26 września to Międzynarodowy Dzień Języków Obcych. W związku z tym, iż nasi uczniowie, a także Native Speakers pochodzą z najróżniejszych krajów, jest to również święto naszej szkoły!
Uczniowie i wychowawcy stworzyli w murach szkoły prawdziwie międzynarodową atmosferę nadając swoim gabinetom wystrój i charakter wybranego przez siebie kraju. Tematyczne dekoracje, nastrojowa muzyka czy regionalne przekąski sprawiały, że na chwilę podróżowaliśmy w inne miejsce. To wszystko po to, aby przybliżyć innym uczniom i nauczycielom kulturę i język kraju, z którego pochodzi dany uczeń.
Każda klasa przygotowała prezentacje, quizy z wiedzy oraz ciekawe zadania w formie warsztatów. Młodzież i dzieci uczyli się nowych zwrotów, ćwiczyli wymowę i odkrywali znaczenie słówek w wielu obcych językach.
W zabawę zaangażowali się uczniowie wszystkich klas. Nasi najmłodsi podopieczni, klasy 1-4, spędzili ten dzień pod hasłem Węgier, Rumunii, Ukrainy i Wielkiej Brytanii. Dzieci poznały wiele ciekawostek kulturowych, niestrudzenie powtarzały zwroty w tych językach, tańczyły w rytm muzyki regionalnej, kodowały swoje imiona w języku ukraińskim, malowały na pięciolinii, poznawały flagi i delektowały się tradycyjnym ukraińskim kompotem i angielską herbatą z ciasteczkami.
Równie niesamowite wrażenie zrobili starsi uczniowie z klas 5-8. Tutaj prym wiodły następujące kraje: Hiszpania, Norwegia, Czarnogóra i USA. Uczniowie bawili się rozwiązując quizy z wiedzy o kulturze danego kraju, dopasowując hiszpańskie nazwy do obrazków warzyw i owoców, ucząc się wierszyka po norwesku, powtarzając angielskie łamańce językowe czy zgadując jaka to melodia spośród amerykańskich hitów muzyki pop, oczywiście kosztując lokalnych przysmaków przygotowany przez siebie i kolegów. Norweskie legendy o Trollach na tle zorzy polarnej, którą udało się stworzyć w klasie z pewnością na długo zapadną im w pamięci.
Gratulujemy uczniom pomysłowości i zaangażowania w przygotowanie niesamowitych dekoracji i ciekawych warsztatów językowych, które w dużym stopniu przybliżyły wiedzę na temat kultury i języków tak wielu krajów.
Jesteśmy dumni, że możemy być taką, międzynarodowa szkoła.
The 26th of September is the European Day of Languages and since both our students and Native Speaking teachers come from various countries, our school celebrates this special day too.
Our students and teachers have created a truly international atmosphere in the school building by setting up amazing decorations in their classrooms, which showed the character of the country they chose to represent. Specially designed props, music and regional food made us feel as if we actually moved to those countries for one day. The aim was simply to show the culture and the language of the countries some of our students come from to their friends and teachers.
Each class prepared thematic presentations, quizzes and challenging tasks for each other in the form of workshops to check the cultural knowledge of a given country. Our students also learnt new phrases, practised the pronunciation, and discovered the meaning of words in different foreign languages.
All students got involved in organizing the event. Our youngest ones, grades 1-4, chose Hungary, Romenia, Ukraine and Great Britain to be the subject of the day. Children learnt numerous facts about those countries, they meticulously studied phrases in those languages, they danced to the rhythm of folk music, they wrote their names in different alphabets, they learnt about the countries’ flags and enjoyed a traditional Ukrainian fruit drink as well as English tea with biscuits.
Older students from grades 5-8 made an equally great impression that day. The following countries were in the center of students’ interest: Spain, Norway, Montenegro, and The USA. All the students had fun doing quizzes about those countries. Other tasks involved matching words and pictures, matching words and famous buildings, learning a Norwegian poem by heart (a really challenging task), repeating British tongue twisters or guessing the American pop songs’ titles. The students will surely remember the Norwegian legends about Trolls and the Northern Lights created by students in their classrooms. Having a chance to taste various delicacies prepared by students themselves was an additional bonus.
We wish to thank all students for their hard work and creativity preparing such amazing decorations and language workshops, which gave us all the opportunity to become more familiar with the countries they represented that day.
