Warsztaty z historii Elbląga

Lessons in the history of Elbląg history workshops “Elbląg – its past and present”.

Korzystając ze wspaniałej pogody, przepięknego błękitu nieba, temperatury godnej lata i kolorów jesieni, 14 października, odbyły się warsztaty historyczne, pt. Elbląg – wczoraj i dziś.

Kalendarzowy Dzień Nauczyciela, jako dzień wolny od zajęć w szkole, był okazją do spotkania dotyczącego historii elbląskich kościołów.

Tytuł spotkania to nawiązanie do książki prof. Stanisława Gierszewskiego, historyka UG, który jako pierwszy po roku 1945, podjął się napisania historii miasta. Warsztaty wystartowały w szkole o godz. 10.00. W sali 2 B odbył się wykład na temat kościołów elbląskich od XIV aż po XIX wiek. Wielu z nich już nie ma na mapie, np. kościoła Św. Anny czy kościoła Trzech Króli. Drugim punktem był spacer po mieście i poznanie miejsc, gdzie kiedyś, sto lat temu, stały te świątynie. Młodzież próbowała nawiązać do tamtych czasów szkicując zabytki miasta.

Wszystkim dopisywały humory i talenty, co widać na załączonych poniżej w galerii zdjęciach.

This Monday, 14 of October, we were lucky to enjoy a truly wonderful cloudless weather: beautiful blue sky, summer-like temperature, and at the same time a wide range of lovely colours of the famous ‘Polish golden autumn’. We gladly made use of this exceptional opportunity and took part in the history workshops “Elbląg – its past and present”.

The name of the workshop comes from the title of the book by the renowned historian of the University of Gdańsk. prof. Stanisław Gierszewski, who was the first one to undertake the task of writing the history of Elbląg after 1945. The workshop started at our school with a lecture on the churches of Elbląg between the 14th and 19th century (many of them, unfortunately, are long gone, e.g. St Ann’s Church or Three Kings’ Church). Then we took a long walk in the city to revisit the places where those temples were located hundreds of years ago. The students, inspired by the lecture and discussion, tried to make historic references by sketching the most iconic buildings of our city. We all had fun and the joyful mood prevailed.
