Elbląg, NATO, and new Regimental Colours.
W 2016 roku odbył się w Warszawie szczyt NATO, który był bardzo ważny dla naszego miasta. Na mocy postanowień tego szczytu Elbląg stał się siedzibą Dowództwa Wielonarodowej Dywizji Północny Wschód, w skład której wchodzą żołnierze 15 armii NATO. Przy dywizji utworzono Pułk Wsparcia Dowodzenia i w miniony weekend, 19 października, mieliśmy zaszczyt wraz z dowódcami wojskowymi, przedstawicielami władz województwa i miasta, posłami i senatorami uczestniczyć w podniosłej uroczystości nadania Pułkowi sztandaru.
Obserwowaliśmy cały ceremoniał wojskowy związany z symbolami narodowymi, podniesienie flagi na maszt i defiladę, a po części oficjalnej mieliśmy okazję porozmawiać z żołnierzami przy talerzu prawdziwej, wojskowej grochówki i z bliska zobaczyć wojskowe pojazdy i sprzęty.
In 2016 a NATO summit took place in Warsaw and it turned out to be very important for our city. By its resolutions Elbląg was chosen to be the headquarters of the Multinational Division North East (MND-NE) which includes the soldiers of the 15th NATO Army. Alongside the Division the Command Support Regiment was established and it was last week, precisely on 19 October 2019, when we were honoured, together with the army officers, Elbląg and the voivodeship administration representatives, MPs and senators to participate in this solemn ceremony of awarding the Regiment its official colours.
We attentively watched the whole ceremony connected with our national symbols, the lifting of the regimental colours, and the army parade. After the official part of the ceremony, we took the opportunity to talk with the soldiers while enjoying a bowl of the famous army pea soup, and also had a close look at the military equipment and vehicles.
